Mr. P. V. Balasubramanyam, graduated with Distinction in 1984, in BE (Mechanical Engineering) from University of Mysore. He has nearly 30 years of Industry experience in the areas Manufacturing Engineering, Production planning & control, Industrial engineering and Corporate Management, including new business development. He has served in Bharat Electronics Limited, Widia (India) Limited [now Kennametal (India)], Maini Precision Products and currently serving as General Manager (Corporate Planning & Offsets) at Alpha Design Technologies Private Limited, Bangalore.

Some of the Major contributions and achievements are:

• Finalization of International Contracts for Defence Offsets to the tune of US $ 100 Mn (Rs 600 Cr) in the last 2 years.
• Accomplishment of Indigenous production of High End UV Sensors based Self Protection System for Indian Defence Helicopters.
• Export to Western Countries the sub units for Thermal Imaging Based Fire Control Systems, Thermal Imaging Sub units used in the Armored Fighting vehicles and Infantry Combat vehicles.
• Finalized a major acquisition of an existing company and further expand and diversify to Aerospace domain. This has contributed additional Business to the extent of Rs 50 Cr every year.
• Executing major Technology Transfer agreements with International organizations in NICHE technological areas in the Electronic Warfare domain.
• Indigenization of Manufacture of Antenna Systems for Defence applications.
• Productivity Improvement through introduction of Lean Manufacturing Techniques, Total Productive Maintenance, Multi-skill & Multi-tasking etc.

During his professional tenure in ALPHA till date, he has visited several countries and has been associated with World class organizations that specialize in manufacturing Defence Systems. These visits have resulted in imbibing the latest technological advancements in the field of Manufacturing and Integration of complex Defence Electronic Systems. This has helped the company to increase its business presence both in India and Worldwide.
